Events

The group located the central area where the mud was flowing onto a giant Bleed-corrupted monster. Getalin were pushing mud under the light of glowing runes towards the center pile. Ringing the outside of the room were more villagers stuck to the walls. The heroes destroyed some runes, then were chased into another alcove where they fought a Getalin patrol. They then discovered the holding area where the villagers were kept. They ambushed two more patrols, killing them without a fight, and bought time for the villagers to be evacuated. All that was left was the central area, where the heroes attacked the Mud Beast with Dohagen at its heart. After a long battle they slew it and rid the caverns of the monster, gathering what loot could be found and returning to the settlement. The villagers were soon roused from their dazed state and the settlement lived again. After much celebration and the selling of Durithan's goods, the town honored the party by naming the village Raven's Hollow. Cyric destroyed the ritual circle and the corrupted Bleed rock at the heart of Dohagen's monstrous form was boxed up and put on the ship. Word was sent back to Tomoll that the deed was done.

The settlement named itself Raven’s Hollow to honor the party, and the town threw Dohagen over the side to feed to the cloudsea sharks.

The party set out on the SS Stoutbow to Paelford. On the way Durithan paid them their cut and had drinks with the crew. In transit they were flagged down by a ship representing the Pirate King who delivered Crownbreaker to Alaric, his father’s axe restored as a favor by the Pirate King, as well as word that there was an issue regarding his father. The adventurers also discovered in the treasure they had taken from the caves of Zarka the Helm of the Adamant and the Fireheart Ring.

Upon arriving at Paelford the party met with Jamond, who informed them that the Elector Counts were ignoring or uninterested in the pain of the people. Many villages and towns were under assault nightly from all manner of horrible creatures – zombies, wolves, bats, and more. After breaking bread and enjoying a good smoke together the party went out at night to read from the book of the damned. It revealed corrupted leylines crisscrossing the Isle, many connected to popular centers and leading out into the dark woods. The party then went to a local church and summoned the ghost of Father Schurer to guide them.

Events

The heroes returned above decks and fought off another wave of pirate attacks, this time facing off against a duelist, an alchemical gunner, and three more rifleman. Once defeated, the heroes acquired the satchel of alchemical orbs and now have eight of them in four different varieties [2 fire 2 smoke 2 explosion 2 Unknown]. They interrogated the Rat King to find out that there are other pirates on the Isle of Diamel. On Diamel the pirates are led by the orc pirate captain Kargaran Goldtooth, who has a dozen ships and a special breed of flying alligators called Togar. The pirates were tipped off about the adventurers’ location by someone named Rejal back on Tomoll, a name which Cyric did not recognize.
The Rat King was eaten by cloudsea fish.

The heroes arrived on Zarka to find no one at the slips and the entire town deserted, as if they had walked away mid-meal. They searched around to find a message scrawled on a bulletin board that directed them outside of town, where they encountered traps laid by the survivors. The party also discovered a pentagram drawn around the town with snake heads at the five points. Cyric reversed the skulls to redirect the spell at the creator. After befriending the group, they found that they were led by Harkov who had skills as a pathfinder and trap-maker. They had been outside of town when the ritual took over the town.

The townspeople had headed out into the jungle and were now being used to maintain an enormous pit. Some villagers were cutting away vegetation while others kept pushing mud down the funnel into an enormous opening at the bottom, feeding a constant sluice of mud and earth into the dark area below. The heroes got one of the villagers and Alexander used The Voice to break the control over the villager’s mind. The villagers were being watched by Getalin warriors.

They learned that a local madman Dohagen may have been involved. They went back to search his quarters and found a trap door leading to a deep tunnel beneath his home, full of shelves of strange items. Most peculiar was the dead Getalin and the carved rock they found. This rock was carved in intricate, overlapping patterns of varying depths that mentioned the name Shaz’Pilub and did not appear to be made by Dohagen.

They then had Harkov lead them to a nearby cave entrance to go into the tunnels below to try and find out where the rest of the villagers were. There they encountered a band of Getalin and defeated them.

Events

Cyric helped Alaric and Alexander join the Order of the Raven, formally taking the oath before Grand Castellan Kithak and Captain Vaeril. Cyric playfully tricked the two newcomers to kneel during the oath as a test of endurance. The group celebrated at the Puzzled Toad, a local tavern.

The next day at the Raven's Call three calls stood out: Jamond, Indimel, and Durithan.

Jamond was a Halfling male from Paelford whose people were under attack by monsters, but the nobles would not help. Paelford was applying to join the Centuriad.

Indimel was a Human female from Alund whose people raise Gryphons, but they have been dying of unknown ailments and eggs are going missing.

Durithan was a Dwarven male traveling to Zarka, hoping to hire aid to help smuggle goods to the frontier folk there who had settled illegally.

The Ravens decided to help Durithan and Jamond, in that order. Jamond took the Myst Raven to Paelford to await the Ravens' arrival, where Durithan would drop them when that mission was complete.

The party journeyed with Durithan and his steampunk Dwarf crew aboard the Stoutbow through the cloudsea, and en route to Zarka were attacked by two pirate ships. The pirates began boarding and the group fought off the first assault team before going below decks to battle a 'rat king' and his gaggle of rats.
