Events

The party went floor by floor through the tower of T'Nad, killing monsters on each floor. They fought zombies, werewolves, flesh golems, giant spiders, and more. Each floor presented new challenges, but after three deadly encounters they had made it to the summit.

On the roof of the tower they battled a dark necromancer who was channeling power from the Isle's core through the giant skull that was its focus. After a short but deadly fight, the necromancer was slain and the tower began to fall. Cyric used his magical power to direct the tower's fall onto the oncoming undead army.

Afterwards they assisted with other Raven activities as the Order of the Lion and Pirates arrived to decimate the vampire's forces. However, the exuberance of the pirates allowed the vampire Baron Grenheim to escape. When the dust settled, the Pirate King told Alaric that it was time to deal with his father's legacy.

Events

Alaric called in his favors with the Pirate King to come assist with the attack on Paelford. The entire Order of the Ravens was mobilized to try and hold the undead at bay. Alaric called the Pirate King and asked for his assistance, and the party set out.

There were three pressing issues: the massing armies, the T'Nad tower, and protecting evacuating civilians. The party chose to attack T'Nad tower, and set out alongside other Ravens.

In the forest they encountered a corrupted Owlbear, a banshee, and some zombies, which they defeated thanks to some deadly strikes from Alaric. Then they approached the moat surronding the T'Nad and fought a group of ten skeletons to cross the bridge they were protecting. Cyric destroyed and reformed four of the skeletons to turn the tide, and the party defeated the remaining skeletons to cross the corrupted moat.

The party then ventured inside the tower to see what awaited them.

Alaric - 1 Positive Pirate King [RESOLVED – Barty Barts was in town, Alaric's old buddy]

Events

Streams of nobles poured into the keep and village, and it quickly turned into a party town. One of the laborers turned out to be Barty Barts, Alaric's old friend, who was inadvertently working for a vampire noble Sir Adelgar. Alaric sent him back to the ship, then the party snuck through the route in the enchanted forest that Barty Barts revealed.

The pathway was safe but the trees were corrupted, and produced disgusting ichor when cut open. Cyric recalled the lessons of Professor Sprout and determined that the soil itself was corrupted by the Bleed or foul magics. The party snuck around the laborers' village and mimicked the undead laborers to enter the keep.

While searching the keep, the heroes discovered that Hallowbane – also known as mustard – would repel vampires. Cyric used a ritual to keep the vampires sleeping while the party found the coffin room on the floor below and set the entire room aflame, with skeletons carrying mirrors waiting outside to shine daylight on them.  The party quickly headed outside after starting the fire.

Before the fire had really taken off, they discovered an outline of the ritual beneath the smithy showing the forest/keep/wall as a moon at the center of the leyline network. However, before the adventurers left the fire had spread and vampires were streaming out of the keep and exploding.

Baron Grenheim appeared at the top of the keep and began producing giant clouds overhead. He and Alexander got into a shouting match over the shadow, and Cyric tossed an unholy blast to stall him. Before Grenheim could retaliate, a mystic carriage appeared behind the party driven by Vola, a bluecap servant of the Archmage. They loaded up and blasted through the corrupted forest before Grenheim could destroy them.

They were pursued by two giant flying bat monsters as they retreated to their shyp. The batmonsters tried to destroy their wagon wheels, but Alaric leapt onto one bat and crushed it to the ground while tied to the wagon. He then surfed the bat body to the other side and tangled up the second batmonster with the rope, collapsing all of them into a big tumbling bundle.

The heroes doubled back to pick up Alaric, and grabbed Jamond before leaving the Isle. They sent the appropriate messages to the Corvus Keep and by the time they arrived at Tomoll the entire Isle was preparing for war.

It had begun.

Events

The group spoke with Father Schurer about what was going on. He revealed that the leylines had been corrupted, and there was a nearby node at Eagle Ridge Farmstead. The group purchased horses and a fancy carriage then set out for the farm.

At the farm they found the peasants were pale and hallowed. They asked to meet the lord, Heiran. Cyric posed as a more powerful necromancer and asked why they had fallen behind. Heiran and his peasants took them to the nearby lake where they had a secret underground viewing glass, through which the party saw it was almost stacked to the brim with the bodies of local peasants. The heroes slaughtered Heiran and his cohorts without mercy.

Through this they learned that these corpses were being used to corrupt the leylines, in the hopes of eventually corrupting the shard core itself. They rode off to the Baron Gronheim's fortress – Korlach Keep - to find out more. There they stayed in an inn just outside Korlach's walls, where they learned the entire back part of his estate was a large enchanted (and dangerous) forest.

That night they were assailed by half-orc assassins hired by the Hierophant to get revenge on Cyric for their past run-ins. The heroes dispatched the assassins without much effort.

Events

The group located the central area where the mud was flowing onto a giant Bleed-corrupted monster. Getalin were pushing mud under the light of glowing runes towards the center pile. Ringing the outside of the room were more villagers stuck to the walls. The heroes destroyed some runes, then were chased into another alcove where they fought a Getalin patrol. They then discovered the holding area where the villagers were kept. They ambushed two more patrols, killing them without a fight, and bought time for the villagers to be evacuated. All that was left was the central area, where the heroes attacked the Mud Beast with Dohagen at its heart. After a long battle they slew it and rid the caverns of the monster, gathering what loot could be found and returning to the settlement. The villagers were soon roused from their dazed state and the settlement lived again. After much celebration and the selling of Durithan's goods, the town honored the party by naming the village Raven's Hollow. Cyric destroyed the ritual circle and the corrupted Bleed rock at the heart of Dohagen's monstrous form was boxed up and put on the ship. Word was sent back to Tomoll that the deed was done.

The settlement named itself Raven’s Hollow to honor the party, and the town threw Dohagen over the side to feed to the cloudsea sharks.

The party set out on the SS Stoutbow to Paelford. On the way Durithan paid them their cut and had drinks with the crew. In transit they were flagged down by a ship representing the Pirate King who delivered Crownbreaker to Alaric, his father’s axe restored as a favor by the Pirate King, as well as word that there was an issue regarding his father. The adventurers also discovered in the treasure they had taken from the caves of Zarka the Helm of the Adamant and the Fireheart Ring.

Upon arriving at Paelford the party met with Jamond, who informed them that the Elector Counts were ignoring or uninterested in the pain of the people. Many villages and towns were under assault nightly from all manner of horrible creatures – zombies, wolves, bats, and more. After breaking bread and enjoying a good smoke together the party went out at night to read from the book of the damned. It revealed corrupted leylines crisscrossing the Isle, many connected to popular centers and leading out into the dark woods. The party then went to a local church and summoned the ghost of Father Schurer to guide them.

Alaric - 1 Conflicted Pirate King [RESOLVED – Pirates have a bounty on Alaric's head]

Events

The heroes returned above decks and fought off another wave of pirate attacks, this time facing off against a duelist, an alchemical gunner, and three more rifleman. Once defeated, the heroes acquired the satchel of alchemical orbs and now have eight of them in four different varieties [2 fire 2 smoke 2 explosion 2 Unknown]. They interrogated the Rat King to find out that there are other pirates on the Isle of Diamel. On Diamel the pirates are led by the orc pirate captain Kargaran Goldtooth, who has a dozen ships and a special breed of flying alligators called Togar. The pirates were tipped off about the adventurers’ location by someone named Rejal back on Tomoll, a name which Cyric did not recognize.
The Rat King was eaten by cloudsea fish.

The heroes arrived on Zarka to find no one at the slips and the entire town deserted, as if they had walked away mid-meal. They searched around to find a message scrawled on a bulletin board that directed them outside of town, where they encountered traps laid by the survivors. The party also discovered a pentagram drawn around the town with snake heads at the five points. Cyric reversed the skulls to redirect the spell at the creator. After befriending the group, they found that they were led by Harkov who had skills as a pathfinder and trap-maker. They had been outside of town when the ritual took over the town.

The townspeople had headed out into the jungle and were now being used to maintain an enormous pit. Some villagers were cutting away vegetation while others kept pushing mud down the funnel into an enormous opening at the bottom, feeding a constant sluice of mud and earth into the dark area below. The heroes got one of the villagers and Alexander used The Voice to break the control over the villager’s mind. The villagers were being watched by Getalin warriors.

They learned that a local madman Dohagen may have been involved. They went back to search his quarters and found a trap door leading to a deep tunnel beneath his home, full of shelves of strange items. Most peculiar was the dead Getalin and the carved rock they found. This rock was carved in intricate, overlapping patterns of varying depths that mentioned the name Shaz’Pilub and did not appear to be made by Dohagen.

They then had Harkov lead them to a nearby cave entrance to go into the tunnels below to try and find out where the rest of the villagers were. There they encountered a band of Getalin and defeated them.
